When Wendy Everly first discovers the truth about herself—that she’s a changeling switched at birth—she knows her life will never be the same. Now she’s about to learn that there’s more to the story…

She shares a closer connection to her Vittra rivals than she ever imagined—and they’ll stop at nothing to lure her to their side. With the threat of war looming, her only hope of saving the Trylle is to master her magical powers—and marry an equally powerful royal. But that means walking away from Finn, her handsome bodyguard who’s strictly off limits…and Loki, a Vittra prince with whom she shares a growing attraction.

Torn between her heart and her people, between love and duty, Wendy must decide her fate. If she makes the wrong choice, she could lose everything, and everybody, she’s ever wanted…in both worlds.

Willa’s Rambles:

I absolutely ADORED Switched, the first book in this series (you can see that review here) and I couldn’t wait to getTorn from St. Martin’s! The minute I started it, I couldn’t put the book down, and I ended up finishing it in a day. So. Amazing.

Wendy is a character that is hugely conflicted, especially in this books, because she has two sides of her pulling for her to be Queen. This causes her to make life decisions about what she believes in, and who she loves, all as a teenager. One of the things I was most impressed with was Wendy’s ability to speak her mind and have brilliant ideas about the kingdom, and ways to change it for the better.

The boys in these books… Well, they’re amazing. When Loki shows up, I was just like, “Later Finn! I’m with HIM.” because he was incredible. I don’t want to give anything away about Wendy’s decision on the boy situation, but I think she makes a good one – she follows her heart.

The ending was a TOTAL cliffhanger, but thankfully, I had Ascend sitting on my bookshelf (review up next week) so I was okay. Amanda Hocking’s books are enthralling – they suck you into a world of power, treason, and beauty where following your heart isn’t really an option.

Torn was even better thanSwitched, and I can’t wait to share my thoughts withAscend with you all, and give you a sum-up on my thoughts of the series! Sneak peek: AMAZING.
